Leads! Is this thing on?\u201d<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;134245418&quot;:true,&quot;134245529&quot;:true,&quot;335559738&quot;:160,&quot;335559739&quot;:80}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">They came back with:<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201cThe website is old &amp; slow.\u201d<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201cThe information is outdated.\u201d<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201cThe code is bulky and needs updating.\u201d<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201cYou never approve our ideas.\u201d<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201cDogs and Cats, living together. Mass Hysteria!\u201d<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">(Nope. Sorry. That last one is Ghostbusters.)<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">But like the following scene in Ghostbusters where all the ghosts are freed from containment, your head is now swirling in alphabet soup acronyms and buzzwords.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">You want leads. They want leads.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">You want results now. But what if I told you there is a way to conduct successful lead generation campaigns as a way to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sharpinnovations.com\/services\/design\/responsive-web-design\">build your website<\/a>? One of my favorite tools.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">A landing page is a simple, efficient page that gives you the chance to:\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">test your pitch,\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">put your best foot forward,\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">and give potential clients &amp; customers a no-nonsense way to contact you about your service, or to purchase your product.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Image. Offer. Call to Action. Capture the information on a simple form (or phone number). Boom.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">(And yes. Privacy Policy and contact information, too)<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 aria-level=\"3\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u201cBut don\u2019t landing pages involve a lot of design?\u201d<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;134245418&quot;:true,&quot;134245529&quot;:true,&quot;335559738&quot;:160,&quot;335559739&quot;:80}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">That\u2019s the beauty of it. Landing pages can be created rather efficiently in a few ways:<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">You can make a landing page from your website CMS, and season it to taste.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Landing Pages can be created with third-party software tools that offer clean, smooth, cost-effective alternatives with efficient, minimalist designs that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sharpinnovations.com\/blog\/2023\/10\/quality-content-2\/\">let your content do the heavy lifting<\/a> \u2013 which is perfect since mobile phones is where about 70% of your traffic is likely coming from.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">They can be posted and hosted by your website domain or another domain.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">My favorite: a lot of companies set up landing pages on a subdomain. Like \u201ctry.sharpinnovations.com.\u201d \u201cTry\u201d being the subdomain.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Now, anything about your company\u2019s offering is free to test:<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The 4 Ps: product, price, place, promotion<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Branding concepts<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Color schemes<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The color of the button, the Call -to-Action button<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">If you run a lot of brick &amp; mortar locations, landing pages can be syndicated rather easily with proper physical addresses<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\"><strong>Warning:<\/strong> Familiarity with landing pages can lead to a constant craving to test ideas.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">But don\u2019t worry. If you get down to testing the granular difference in price-points ending in .99, .95, and .44, and breaking it down to regions of the country, it doesn\u2019t mean you need help. It just means you\u2019re getting awesome at A\/B testing with landing pages.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 aria-level=\"3\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u201cHow do we send people to the landing page?\u201d<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;134245418&quot;:true,&quot;134245529&quot;:true,&quot;335559738&quot;:160,&quot;335559739&quot;:80}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Some of the most effective online methods, traditionally, are:<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sharpinnovations.com\/blog\/2019\/08\/email-marketing-is-dead-or-is-it\/\">Email marketing<\/a> to your client or prospect email list<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Marketing to your customer list assuming you have enough customers who do NOT have the product \/ service you want to test<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sharpinnovations.com\/blog\/2021\/07\/how-often-should-a-businesses-post-on-social-media\/\">Social media posts<\/a>\n<ul>\n<li>Paid and organic<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">PPC \/ Paid Search Engine Marketing from Google Ads\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">And, of course, Microsoft Advertising search ads\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 aria-level=\"3\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u201cThis sounds easy enough, but how can I prove the value of a website to the stakeholders?\u201d<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;134245418&quot;:true,&quot;134245529&quot;:true,&quot;335559738&quot;:160,&quot;335559739&quot;:80}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">If you need an MVP (Minimum Viable Product) or proof of concept before you try landing pages, start with the emails themselves. They can be tested just like landing pages. It\u2019s not quite as effective without landing pages, but they get the job done. You can split your list and test that way. <\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">If you don\u2019t want to send traffic to a website, test emails or phone numbers for calls to action.\u00a0 For even more accurate tracking, a custom email (like an alias or a group) or surprisingly inexpensive 800 numbers from a third-party provider like <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.goto.com\/connect\/features\/toll-free-numbers\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">GoTo VOIP Phones<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> will likely give you the most accurate results.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">And if you have a CRM, you can track all the touch points: Email, phone, website, and Sales team interactions. Now we\u2019re grilling burgers with applewood.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 aria-level=\"3\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u201cBut most of my email lists are customers.\u201d<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;134245418&quot;:true,&quot;134245529&quot;:true,&quot;335559738&quot;:160,&quot;335559739&quot;:80}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The good news is that it\u2019s much easier to sell to an existing customer. Preaching to the converted, so to speak.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The trick from there is to find a product \/ service most don\u2019t have or develop a new product \/ service \u2013 or simply an upsell &#8211; to test. The choice(s) are yours, my friends.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">For an even simpler proof of concept, one can evenly split up the customer email list, send a newsletter A\/B testing style with two different email styles designed for testing, and track the engagement.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 aria-level=\"3\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u201cWhat about a Facebook or LinkedIn page\u2026\u201d<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;134245418&quot;:true,&quot;134245529&quot;:true,&quot;335559738&quot;:160,&quot;335559739&quot;:80}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">No.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Sorry. That\u2019s a knee jerk reaction.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">In honestly, sure, you can use Facebook &amp; LinkedIn pages to a point.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">To give credit where credit\u2019s due, LinkedIn Ads and Meta Business Suite are much improved, most notably as traffic generators and traffic sources. Especially those LinkedIn tools for B2B markets.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Both platforms should be in your arsenals.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">But as homes for your content, your primary content sources should be your website and your email. Why? because in your website and your email, you have primary control of your content and data. That\u2019s not the case with a Facebook or LinkedIn page. If either changes their rules yet again, your content rights can go further by the wayside. <\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Please don\u2019t put your business in those situations.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 aria-level=\"2\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">In the end, Marketing is still about finding that need and filling it. <\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;134245418&quot;:true,&quot;134245529&quot;:true,&quot;335559738&quot;:160,&quot;335559739&quot;:80}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Testing is required to find and fill.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Landing pages &amp; emails are those primary finders and fillers.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p aria-level=\"3\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">They say to eat the whale (or in my case, my burger here) one bite at a time.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;134245418&quot;:true,&quot;134245529&quot;:true,&quot;335559738&quot;:160,&quot;335559739&quot;:80}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Each test is like a bite of that whale. When you get those favorable landing page &amp; email testing results, you can savor those bites (or bytes, in this case) and make a meal out of your next website.
